Hi, I'm Sue, a watercolour, ink, and coloured pencil artist. Having recently retired from teaching, I'm now dedicating my time to my lifelong passion for art. Join me on this creative journey and explore the world through my eyes.
My artistic journey
From drawing on wallpaper as a child to leading art in primary schools, creativity has always been at the heart of what I do. Now, in retirement, I'm thrilled to share my unique blend of watercolour, ink, and coloured pencil art with you. Each piece tells a story, inspired by the beauty around me and the joy of creation.
Watercolor & Ink Home Portrait
An original watercolor and ink rendering of a two-story brick house with twin garages, tiled roof, and neatly arranged planters. This commissioned pet portrait was created using pastel pencils and Polychromo coloured pencils. Using high quality Claire Fontaine pastel may board, the delightful little trio were a pleasure to draw!
I'm new to pet portraits but absolutely love doing them and of course, receiving such wonderful compliments and feed back is the icing on the cake! I'm always willing to have a go at creating animals or birds, using pastels, pencils or watercolours! Please contact me if you are interested, I'll be happy to oblige.
Commissioned pieces
This little fur ball was a commission for a friend of mine who requested it to present as a gift to her son at Christmas. 'Milo' was drawn in Polychromo pencil with touches of pastel, on high quality pastel board paper. He looked equally as cute on a blank greeting card and bookmark that I included with the picture.
